Tour 1: City tour

 

Hradcany with courtyards of the Prague Castle and th St. Vite’s Cathedral. A walk along the Royal Route: through the Lesser Town (St. Nicholas church, Wallenstein’s Palace and park, the Church of Our Lady with the miraculous statue of Jesus Child), the Charles Bridge, Old Town Square with the famous clock, the Powder Gate, the Municipal House (the most beautiful example of secession in the architecture in Prague), Wenceslas Square, some time for shopping.




Tour 2: Hradcany – Prague Castle, Petřin

A giant architectural ensemble, former royal residence on a hill upon Vltava valley. The Castle exists since the IX-th century, from 1918 serves as the site of the President of the Czech-Slovak and Czech Republic. In the past it was many times enlarged – on the beginning it was only a small wooden fortress, later a very big castle with majestic stone and brick buildings and splendid churches of all styles that existed in the history of architecture. In the very centre of the ensemble there is St. Vite’s Cathedral and the Basilica of St. George. The Cathedral is the place where the crown jewels are stored and almost all dukes and kings are buried. It is a spiritual symbol of the state. It is of course also necessary to walk along the famous Golden Lane. According a legend the lane was in the medieval times inhabited by alchemists. Then we are going to reach Petřin hill and admire a picturesque panorama from the top of the copy of Eiffel Tower and. The unique mirror maze is also worth seeing.

 

Tour 3: the Old Town

 

 

During the tour we are going to walk through the Old Town Square famous of its 600 years old clock and the Tyn Church, then pass the Powder Gate, the Municipal House (the most beautiful example of secession in the architecture in Prague), the Charles University, picturesque narrow streets near the Clementinum, the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, then walk on the romantic Charles Bridge. We will visit also the Wenceslas Square.




Tour 4: the Lesser Town

 

 

We will take you for a walk through one of the most beautiful districts in Prague: Neruda Street, a small picturesque lane Jánský vršek, Wallenstein Palace and gardens (except winter), the churches of St. Thomas and St. Nicholas, the Church of Our Lady with the miraculous statue of Jesus Child. During the tour we will also see the Kampa Island and make a walk on the Charles Bridge.



Tour 5: Jewish Prague

 

 

The Jewish district Josefov is over 700 years old. During the tour we are going to visit historic synagogues, among others the oldest in Europe Staronova synagogue and the old Jewish cemetery. Except the historic district we will also see some remains of the Jewish temples in Libeń and Smichov and the new Jewish cemetery in Vinohrady where the famous writer Franz Kafka is buried.


Tour 6: Churches and Monasteries

 

 

During this tour we will learn the most interesting part of the history of the Christian temples in Prague. Among others we will visit St. Margaret Monastery in Břevnov – one of the oldest in the Czech Republic, the Strachov Monastery with the most precious library and pictures gallery, St. Georges Monastery with the romanesque basilica at the Prague Castle and St. Agnes Monastery, where there is a very precious collections of medieval sculpture and graphics from the XIX-th and XX-th centuries.



Tour 7: Vyšehrad

 

 

One of the oldest among the historic districts, located on a steep hill over Vltava River, described in various Czech legends . In the XIX-th century the new cemetery was created here in order to bury the most famous Bohemian citizens, among others the composers Bedřich Smetana and Antonín Dvořák and the world famous writers Karel Čapek and Božena Němcová.  Except that worth seeing are also remains of the fortress from the XVII-th century.
